 Doune
Stone Lodges
Our 2008 prices
Our three stone lodges nestle between the hillside and the sea. Rebuilt
from the ruins of a cottage which stood empty for 140 years. They are
traditional in appearance, but modern in comfort. The windows look out
over the moored boats and Dun Head, where there are the remains of a
pictish, vitrified fort.
The
view extends over to Skye and provides fabulous sunsets on a summers
evening. Each stone lodge offers a comfortable double or twin room,
en-suite toilet and shower and a porch.
They are thoughtfully designed and fitted out in pine, in our own individual
style. Easy chairs allow guests to relax in the privacy of their rooms.
Hot drink facilities are provided and extra bunk beds
for families.
All
Stone Lodge holidays are fully catered, with all meals being taken in
Doune dining room. There are drying facilities
and a second lighting system, for when the generator is not running.
(We generate all electricity ourselves)

sea. Gripper is spacious, can carry 12 people and has a toilet and small

Bay Lodge
Each year Doune hosts several varied theme weeks. Each run by experts
in their subject. These may include photography,
wildlife, hillwalking, island hopping, painting and lace making.
Guests
at Doune get to see a wide variety of wildlife at close quarters, from
whales, dolphins and basking sharks to red deer, eagles and otters.
If you would like to find out more about what we see, take our Hebridean
wildlife tour.
