Central to the Doune experience is eating fabulous freshly prepared food in our Award winning Dining Room. For our guests, eating in Doune Dining Room is a major part of their holiday. We have always been proud of our food and we try very, very hard to consistently live up to the excellent reputation we have built up over time.

At Doune Dining Room everything is home-made from locally sourced fresh ingredients. The ambience is warm, friendly and relaxed, and equally suited to small or large groups. Our famous three course evening dinner is a carefully chosen single menu, freshly prepared daily (with options for special diets and vegetarians). Start with a wonderful home-made soup or pate, Doune Bay crab, or a stunning salad, always served with our own bread rolls hot from the oven. Main course specialities include, traditional roasts of lamb or venison, rich casseroles, pies, and vast seafood buffets. A delicious dessert will compliment the main course and often makes use of soft fruit in season from our garden. This may be followed by a varied cheese board from local artisan cheesemakers served with our own oatcakes and biscuit selection. Finish with freshly brewed coffee or tea, or choose something different like freshly picked garden chamomile or peppermint tea. The dining room is licensed and we offer a carefully chosen selection of wines, spirits and local beers all at very reasonable prices.


While sticking with our food philosophy and producing delicious real food for our guests is our main aim, receiving recognition for our efforts is always good for morale and we are delighted to have been selected for various awards over the years.

Over the years we have been awarded the Visit Scotland Thistle Award 'Taste of Scotland' in recognition of our use of Scottish produce and strong links with local suppliers. The EatScotland 'Silver Award' for demonstrating the highest quality in our product and service. And the EatScotland 'Destination Dining Award' for providing the very best of food in the finest of settings, one of only 7 such awards of indivdual excellence in the country.

I have dined in some of the top eateries in the world but I have never experienced such consistent quality, freshness, variety and love in food as I have at Doune.
